Everyone has been debating the creepy, weird looking “arms/tentacles” that can be seen on the underbelly of the monster in Cloverfield and here is your answer. According to the interview over at tagruato.blogspot.com Neville explains that the arms are indeed feeding tubes similar to the esophagus with some sort of teeth at the end for feeding. Apparently there were some scenes where these appendages were shown in more detail, but they were sadly cut from the movie (hopefully we’ll see them on the DVD release). The interview is actually pretty interesting, so head on over to the site below and check out the rest.

I love all this “guessing game” stuff, but I’m nowhere near involved as many are, so forgive me if this is, well, dumb: Does anyone think there is any relationship between the properties and effects of the “necter of the sea”, the dissappearance of Targrutos owner/presidents mother while searching for same, and the “half human, half….whatever” qualities of the monster? Could we be seeing the long term effects with the monster, and the short term effects in jamie’s video 11?
