With the lack of information regarding Cloverfield 2 we’ve turned our attention elsewhere for the time being. We launched a site dedicated to the Avengers movie along with Iron Man 2, Captain America and Thor a few months back and it’s been thriving ever since. And due to the popularity of the site we have added a forum to the mix. What better way for people to discuss movies than with a forum dedicated to that movie. It worked well with Cloverfield and we hope it will be just as successful with The Avengers. There is some more chatter from Matt Reeves regarding a sequel to Cloverfield. He recently gave an interview to MTV about the status of the sequel and what ideas they were throwing around. Apparently the studio wants a sequel, of course, but they want to make sure they have an interesting story to tell. And that story may or may not take place right after the original. Reeves mentions that they threw around the idea of having the monster attack Japan and having the story kind of “intersect” with the original movie, but not necessarily follow it or come before it. I’m just happy they are still having discussions about the sequel and of course whenever I hear anything, I will post it here. For the past few years Spike TV has been doing their “Scream Awards” show which showcases movies in the horror/sci-fi genres and this year is no different. “Scream 2008″ will be taped on October 18th and broadcast on TV on October 21st, check your local listings for the times.

Now for the Cloverfield news. The movie we all know and love was nominated for a few awards this year, not quite as many as The Dark Knight or Iron Man, but more than one. Click through for the list of categories and other nominees that Cloverfield appears in/with.

Last night I received a very strange e-mail that mearly says “8.21.2010″ in both the subject and the body of the e-mail. I really don’t think it means anything related to Cloverfield or a sequel (since anyone can send me an email), but you never know. It was sent from an anonymous remailer so I can’t tell who sent it. So throw this one in the “???” file, cause I have no clue what it means, if anything, but since Cloverfield news has all but died out for the time being, anything is worth posting no matter how far fetched it may possibly be.
